Terms & Conditions

Arrival and Orientation

  • The meeting point for all PIVS Local and International work camps, mid and long term volunteer program and youth exchange program will be at PIVS office.
  • On arrival please go straight to the reception office, register yourself, pay your participation fee (if it is not paid yet). Volunteer Administrator will provide you with all the information you need.
  • PIVS accepts only those volunteers who arrive on time, participate fully in all activities (work, study part, cultural nights, kitchen work, cleaning etc.) and stay till the end of the program.
  • You will attend internal preparation meeting but this will depend on the location of the camp.
  • All volunteers are required to write evaluation report and attend the evaluation meeting before departure from the program.

Costs

  • Food and accommodation will be provided by PIVS and within PIVS budget. Volunteers will prepare meals in turns. Vegetarian's meals will be available.
  • Volunteers will be responsible for all costs of transport to and from the project site.
  • Transport cost for excursions, free time activities and other private traveling, accommodation cost out of arranged campsite, Visa and Vaccinations should be volunteer's responsibility.
  • You need money for medical service incase of illness, you can also consult your insurance.
  • PIVS is paying no allowance to any volunteer.
  • No organization is commissioned to receive the fee on behalf of PIVS, so the payment should be directed to us. Please check with your sending organization not to confuse with other costs you pay there. (This applies to volunteers sent by partner organizations).
  • Work camp fee should be paid in cash Euros or equivalent Kenyan shillings. Cheques, Travelers cheques, Credit cards etc are not accepted.
  • If you want to be hosted by a family before or after the camp you can do that by contacting us In advance. Cost for volunteers is Euros 20 or equivalent Kshs. per day to cover bed, breakfast and dinner.

Hints

It is advisable to visit Kenyan Embassy, High commission or Consular in their respective countries to get information about immigration and other legal requirements. You can also contact us and we can search information you might need.

You can get a Kenyan VISA through your local embassy or at the airport on your arrival, but refer to the Kenyan Embassy in your country to get detailed information.

PIVS has a zero tolerant rate of corruption. The war against corruption is very much on now.

PIVS is your host, will take care of you, if you arrive before the camp, please report immediately to our office. You will get more info on how to do things. Please inform us on your flight number, day and date of arrival.

PIVS will not be responsible to any volunteer who enters in the country illegally or going against the laws of the land.

PIVS reserves the right to terminate/expel volunteers stay and report him/her to the respective organs/authorities for further action if it will find out that the volunteer is getting involved to any illegal action in the country.
